Are you on guard? Do you have your full armour on? For we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against the rulers, authorities, powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Have you been intimidated? The spirit of intimidation can be traced back to the old testament days. Elijah slayed the prophets of Baal and then ran for his life after his victory. The Israelites felt like grasshoppers when they explored the land God promised them. Both instances show that giving in to intimidation cost Elijah, his calling and the Israelites, the promised land.
Often, intimidation is a ploy used by the enemy to hinder us from moving into the plans and purposes of God. Just yesterday, I experienced an overwhelming sense of intimidation. The enemy is out to kill, steal and destroy. His plan is to instill fear and to cause us to forget our position and authority in Christ so we lose our faith and boldness to hold on to His promises.
We need to be alert and put on the full armour of Ephesians 6. The enemy prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Often, he tries to isolate and before intimidating his prey. Why? It is easier to devour a prey in isolation because there is always strength in numbers and unity. I'm extremely thankful for my awesome family and friends who stand with me in prayer.
We need not give in. Greater is He that lives in me than he that lives in the world!
